When Sheena asked me to be the muse for Chainsaws & Jelly for the month of March I was stoked! She had asked me back in July 2011 and just last week we were able to link up for the interview and photoshoot. It was a pretty awesome experience. We got to do all the make-up at my home in Newark as well as the shoot. It felt great getting my make-up and hair done as well as chit chatting with the lovely Sheebs. Dear ( ),
I know I shouldn’t even be thinking of you because the pain you caused me was intense. But that’s just it, you “caused” me pain and agony, past tense. What a beautiful thing. I was able to get over it, over you and that’s a great feeling.
It’s raining out, and I can’t help but think how around this time, 2 years ago I sat in my car listening to Erykah Badu & Stephen Marley’s “I’m in Love with You” crying my eyes out when I found out you had betrayed our relationship for her, my friend. How horrible that feeling was.
Luckily, the rain now makes me appreciate love and great people in my life. It makes me miss my boyfriend, wishing I could skip work to lay in bed all day and do nothing but love him.
And so my letter to you is a thank you letter in a way, because if you would’ve never had broken my heart I’d probably be stuck with an asshole like yourself, but instead you set me free and I met the love of my life.
So for that, I’m thankful. For every tear you made me cry, my boyfriend has replaced it with a smile. For ever bad thing you’ve said to me, my boyfriend has complimented me. And for every time you hurt me, my boyfriend has loved twice as much.
So I hope you and my friend are happy, because honestly I don’t wish nothing but love for you, because what I feel for him is greater than anything I’ve ever felt, and no one should be deprived of such a wonderful thing.
